collapsed channel trees auto-expand after a short delay

Description

Summary
If the user collapses a channel tree using the arrow beside the parent channel, after a few seconds, the tree expands again.

Steps
Requires a channel with subchannels
1. Select the down pointing arrow next to the parent
2. Note channels collapse, hiding child channels
3. Wait a few seconds
4. Note parent expands, showing child channels

this is a known issue and is done intentionally because of a problem way back when we first started. I don't remember what the original problem was, but thanks for the reminder.
