Just noticed it today. Recently upgraded my ubuntu to 10.10 Alpha2. Was using mangler combined with WoW mostly, but since the update, after running mangler, Xorg process is going crazy, taking up to 80% cpu time, making playing games under wine really difficult.
I know that 10.10 is in alpha stage for now, but maybe you want to look into it :) Can provide more info if needed.

Any way you can test the SVN version to see if that fixes it? You'll need to remove the Ubuntu packages and compile it from source.

compiled, still going crazy.
I think it's not really a mangler issue tho. Started having this issue with other programs (Eclipse is terribly slow and firing it up makes Xorg process go up to 90% cpu usage). I also noticed scrolling is realy killer (basically any app with scrollbars is killing xorg ;p)
Might be a problem with display drivers or something … Don't know :( meh
