Everyone works fine but when I speak it really crackles and skips in and out. Anyone else with DroidX get this problem?

I can reproduce this mostly in 44khz channels. What codec is your server using?

Speex 32KHz – 16bit Quality 10. Friend with HTC Incredible doesn't have this problem.
Thanks :)

speex @32khz q10 works perfectly for me on the DroidX.. it sounds a little static-y, but otherwise it's fine.

Yeah… i think there's something bigger going on here. Try downloading a voice recorder app and see if it gives you the same thing. It seems AudioRecord() is broken on the Droid X or something.

Just downloaded a voice recorder and sounds perfectly clear. No skipping or crackling. :/

Which one did you download? I've tried multiple recorders, and every time I get to 32khz or higher, it starts sounding like crap.

You mean't download a voice recorder app for the -X- and test and see? If that's what you ment, then it works fine.
App: Voice Recorder by Mamoru Tokashiki.

I tried the same one. Doesn't work very well. The latest comment from today on that app is another person on a Droid X saying the same thing.

Darrell commented today saying it works great on his Droid X. I don't see anything about it not working well, for the -X-. I'll record a clip and post what it sounds like.

Sample rate: 8000 Hz
Download PCM Recorder Lite and set your sample rate to 44kHz.

Oh yeah, awful sound. Just like it sounds on vent. Wonder what would be causing this..

Dunno… but i'm going to add a config option to force transmit sample rates at 8kHz and let the resampler upsample it… that should do it, although your xmit quality will suffer.

It will be better than nothing. Hopefully something will show up that's causing the issue.
Thanks :)

Yeah, just updated, the force option works great. Just like you said lower transmit quality but no cutting out. Good work and keep it up ! :)

Like to update, I installed the leaked 2.2 Froyo for Droid X and I unchecked the force 8Khz, the mic now works perfectly with high quality. Sounds really good, like it's not even on the phone.
