I run the package installer for mangler but it just says

Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2.

I have libasound2 version 1.0.17a installed.

Running Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid"

Assistance would be much appreciated.

Not that i am 100% sure but i assume that libasound2 means version 2.0 or higher and not version 1.0.17a.

update your system and try again.

The target Ubuntu version for Mangler is 9.04. It's saying that one (and probably many) of the dependencies of 8.10 are too old for Mangler.
