A Ventrilo Compatible Client for Linux
Mangler on Android… What’s the Deal?
Our Android port of Mangler is pretty much at a standstill. We are unable to find any Android/Java developers willing to work on the project. No one on our team is a Java developer — let alone an Android developer.
Dan has gotten our core lib and its major dependencies ported to the Andrdoid NDK and he has built JNI wrappers for the functions. In fact, last I heard, he could successfully connect to a server and send audio (a.k.a. noise) from his phone.
The missing ingredient at this point is a Java/Android developer to pick up the pieces and build a UI. Until someone volunteers, we’re pretty much stuck and/or moving at a snail’s pace. Dan and I have both reached out on the various Android forums and IRC channels looking for willing developers. So far, none seem to be interested.

I’m getting into Adroid development. As I type this, I’m on a Ventrilo client talking to my guild in 4Story, and when I expressed my interest in creating an Android client for ventrilo, several people got excited. So, I am interested in taking on this project.
Again, I’m just starting out in Android development, but I do have experience with software development in the past (C/C++, I’m familiar but not expert in Java… yet).
Please drop me an email if you’re willing to let me tackle this project.

It’s open source… you don’t need our permission
…. but if you want to work with us on it, all you have to do is join us on irc.freenode.net in #mangler
That’s where all of us devs hang out. Then we can point you in the right direction.

well I went on the IRC channel and there appears to be a couple people already working on it.
I may take it on after I get a bit further educated with Android.

Someone should contact the devs of gaming apps for android, like the wowarmory and thottbot guy to see if they might like to work on this.
